MICHAEL JACKSON: BAD25 This year marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Michael Jackson's groundbreaking Bad album, and Legacy Recordings has put together for the occasion a commemorative box set that will have fans once again shrieking with delight over the Gloved One. Bad25 contains a re-mastered version of the original album plus two additional discs holding a treasure trove of mostly previously unavailable material, including a CD of rare tracks like Spanish and French versions of "I Just Can't Stop Loving You," a demo of "Smooth Criminal" with the working title "Al Capone," an Afrojack remix of "Bad," a Nero remix of "Speed Demon" and eight other cuts. What puts this set completely over the top is the inclusion of a DVD of Jackson's 1988 concert at Wembley Stadium in London. The film is sourced from Jackson's personal VHS copy of the full show and contains songs from Bad and a healthy selection of other hits like "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "Thriller," "Rock with You" and super oldie "I'll Be There."

ELENI MANDELL CAN SEE THE FUTURE Singer/songwriter Eleni Mandell bought her first record at Aron's Records when the shop was still located on Melrose Avenue. Her first concert was Oingo Boingo at the Universal Amphitheater and her first real kiss was shared with a fellow named David outside the Straw Hat Pizza parlor on Van Nuys Boulevard. But what you really need to know is that Mandell is performing a hometown show at the Troubadour on October 3 in support of her recent Yep Roc release I Can See the Future. The legendary Nick Lowe headlines the show.
