Great Park Fall Weekends Filled with Free Family Fun

IRVINE - Fall into fun at the Great Park. Saturdays and Sundays are filled with free family activities ranging from special fall events to recreation programs and sports clinics that will get kids running on the new North Lawn.

"It's wonderful to see families discover that the Great Park offers entire families an opportunity to spend time together, play and explore," said Beth Krom, Chair, Orange County Great Park Board. "Whether through sports clinics, art activities or daylong events like our Pumpkin Harvest, we want to provide experiences that families can enjoy together."

The Great Park family sports programs, beginning October 16, will feature Frisbee golf, croquet and more. In November, kids can enhance their chess skills at the Staser Fall Scholastic Chess Tournament or learn screen printing techniques through the new Great Park recreation programs in historic Hangar 244.

Kids and families will also enjoy the annual Pumpkin Harvest at the Great Park on Saturday, October 22. The event will feature carnival-style games, arts and crafts, a hay maze, costumes, and free pumpkins for kids 12 and under, while supplies last. While at the Pumpkin Harvest, you can help local families fight hunger by bringing non-perishable canned goods for donation to local food banks.
