Maria Elena Camerin and Treat Huey to join Johnson and Vandeweghe for Breakers 2013 season

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. (March 12, 2013) - The Orange County Breakers did not have to go much further than their own backyard for their first two picks in today's Mylan World TeamTennis Roster Draft. The Breakers 11th season in Mylan WTT presented by GEICO kicks off on July 7 at the Bren Events Center on the campus of UC Irvine.

Prior to the start of the Mylan WTT Roster Draft, the selections began with the Roster Exempt Draft, in which the Breakers secured the rights to Newport Beach resident Coco Vandeweghe. Vandeweghe was a key player in the Sacramento Capitals' run to the Mylan WTT Finals last season. Currently in the top 100 in Women's Singles on the WTA Tour, she will play her fifth Mylan WTT season in 2013.

"I have played Mylan WTT for four years, but never for the Breakers. I'm thrilled to be part of the League again this year and this time for my hometown team," said Vandeweghe.

With their official first round pick, the Breakers selected Orange native Steve Johnson. This former USC standout and Mylan WTT rookie is a two-time NCAA Singles Champion (2011 and 2012). He has been steadily rising up the ranks on the ATP Tour since graduating from college, including winning three qualifying matches to make the main draw of the 2013 Australian Open and a quarterfinal showing in San Jose last month.

"It's exciting that my first season playing Mylan World TeamTennis is with my hometown team, the Breakers," said Johnson. "I'm really looking forward to once again being part of a team atmosphere, especially here in Orange County."

After a trade of pick positions with the Texas Wild, Orange County next drafted in the third round and chose Maria Elena Camerin. This former Italian Fed Cup player was a member of Italy's Olympic team in the 2004 Athens Summer Games. She is the winner of three WTA Tour doubles titles.

Rounding out their roster with their fourth round choice, the Breakers selected Treat Huey, who played for the Washington Kastles last season. Huey is a former collegiate player at the University of Virginia and won his first ATP Tour doubles title in 2012. Currently ranked #36 in the world in doubles, he is poised to move up the rankings with a strong showing in Indian Wells, where he is still competing in the men's doubles draw.

With their schedule set, the Breakers will play 14 regular season matches between July 7 and 24. Coach Trevor Kronemann, who returns for his seventh season at the helm of the Breakers, is also head coach of the nationally-ranked men's tennis team at UC Irvine. He will be joined on the Breakers bench this year by new assistant coach, Steve Johnson, Sr.

Breakers season tickets and groups are now on-sale. Season packages range from $105 to $1,150 and VIP Deck tables are also available, starting at $3,000. Individual match night tickets will be on sale in May, but group sales for selected single nights are currently available for groups of 10 or more people.
