Silent River Film Festival Announces its 2013 Line-up, Special Recognition Awards and Film Fair

Silent River Film Festival 2013 Presented by the Silent River Film and Literary Society officially announces its 2013 lineup, award nominees in competition and recipients of 2013 special achievement awards.

This annual celebration of artistic excellence and creative activism includes 80 films from 17 countries
to explore the works of many emerging independent filmmakers, talents, as well as the works of
masters in cine art.

The festival opens on October 17th with "HARMONY: A NAW WAY OF LOOKING AT OUR
WORLD," inspired by the vision of Prince of Wales, directed by Stuart Sender and produced by Julie
Bergman Sender (filmmakers of "THE VOW," ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATED "PRISONERS
OF PARADISE," "G.I JANE," "SIX DAYS AND SEVEN NIGHTS" and others).

As a tradition, the festival will open with two films, representing EAST and WEST. "JOSH: AGAINST
THE GRAIN" directed by Iram Parveen Bilal an emerging female filmmaker from PAKISTAN will
represent EAST at the Opening Night, where as THE HARMONY: A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT
OUR WORLD will represent WEST. This will be US FESTIVAL PREMIERE of JOSH: AGAINST
THE GRAIN and WEST COAST PREMIERE of the HARMONY: A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT
OUR WORLD at the Silent River Film Festival.

HARMONY: A NEW WAY OF LOOKING AT OUR WORLD, that World Premiered this year at the
SUNDANCE LONDON and was attended by Prince Charles and Robert Redford is inspired by the
passion, conviction & guiding principles of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. Harmony
captures the vision of an authentic leader tackling critical global issues working side by side with
dynamic environmental activists, business leaders, artists, architects and governmental leaders from
India to Canada, to the US to the UK, from boardrooms to organic farms and rain forests.

JOSH: AGAINST THE GRAIN tells a story of what happens when you want your life to be much
bigger than yourself and for others. This brave film is a tribute to all innocent victims of retribution
crime in feudal Pakistan and a youth movement against class separation, poverty, illiteracy and
suppression of women's rights.

2013 SRFF other highlights includes "PAD YATRA: A GREEN ODYSSEY" directed by Wendy Lee
and produced by actress Michelle Yeoh of CROUCHING TIGER AND HIDDEN DRAGON,
TOMORROW NEVER DIES. PAD YATRA: A GREEN ODYSSEY narrated by actress Daryl Hannah
is an adventure of 700 people trekking across the Himalayas with a call to save the planet's "3rd pole,"
a glacial region now devastated by the climate chaos associated with global warming. Leader of this
walking pilgrimage Gyalwang Drukpa (a Tibetan Monk) honored by United Nation's MDG AWRD is
an advocate of environment protection, eco-friendly schools and teaching women leadership skills.

Festival's Feature Showcase includes LOOTERA an Eros International film from India, based on story
of O. Henry's THE LAST LEAF- Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane starring Bollywood Mega Stars
Ranbir Singh, Sonakshi Sinha and Adil Hussain of LIFE OF PAI and ENGLISH VINGLISH, ANINT
HO - Directed by Steve Myung - featuring Elizabeth Sung (Memoir of a Geisha) Raymond Ma
(Lethal Weapon, NYPD Blues), Steve Myung, Lina So and popular Rapper James To. US AND THEM,
FOR NO EYES ONLY, ALWAYS FAITHFUL AND THE K EFFECT. STALIN'S EDITOR are the
other highlights of this showcase.

Feature documentary category once again brings a powerful selection in 2013 and includes award
winning documentaries like CRAZY WISDOM, WHO CARES, CHAR-THE NO MAN'S ISLAND,
DUSTY'S TRAIL: SUMMIT OF BORNEO and FRACKNATION. IT'S BETTER TO JUMP and
MAYONG: MYTH/REALITY brings the flavor of East to the audiences in West.

Short film and Short Documentary showcase features OSCAR WINNING documentary A SECOND
CHANCE directed by David Aristizabal, SIX LETTER WORD directed by Lisanne Sartor, starring
Rumer Willis, POSEY directed by Billy DaMota, starring GOLDEN GLOBE WINNER and
ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATED actress Sally Kirkland THE PRICE featuring The Kin, DROP
DEAD directed by Jason Eberly, starring Tango stars Carlos Barrionuevo and Mayte Valdas. DANGER
OVERHEAD POWERLINES by Mia Mullarkey IN HER SHOES by Brandy Rainey Amstel, LIFE
CHANGING MOMENTS by Sherry Thomas, RUNNING BLIND by Ryan Suffern and MAGHO
(DAUGHTER) by Kate Lord are some other inspiring short docs at the festival this year.

Silent River Film Festival 2013, for the first time includes musical works of a number of Music Artists
including Italian American singer Irina Maleeva known for MERCHANT OF VENICE by Orson
Wells, SPIRIT OF DEAD by Fedrico Fellini and many other popular television series in the United
States and abroad. Irina's Music Videos ILLUSION and LET'S FACE THE MUSIC AND DANCE
directed by MICHAEL PESCASIO will be the part of "Fabulous Shorts and Music Videos" showcase
at the 2013 SRFF.

SILENT RIVER FILM FAIR
Silent River Film Festival announces another attraction added to its annual event this year, to be known
as the "Silent River Film Fair." Silent River Film Fair will have FREE ADMISSION to all, attracting
film lovers, industry insiders and those who are looking for a breakthrough in films. The Film Fair will
have seminar, panel discussion, special screenings, exhibits, raffles, food and live entertainment, all to
be concluded with a Red Carpet Award Night Gala.

"Silent River Film Fair" will be held on the last day of the festival every year. This year the Film Fair
and Award Night Gala will be held at the Irvine Civic Center on Sunday October 20th from 10.00 AM t-
9.30 PM. This city supported event adds a new chapter in the history of the Silent River Film Festival
and the City of Irvine, viewed as a positive and efficient relationship for CITY, SRFF and the Irvine
community.

100 YEARS OF INDIAN CINEMA
This year the SRFF will also celebrate100 years of Indian Cinema and will pays a tribute to it by
having a special exhibit of "Indian Film: Art and History" at the Silent River Film Fair. Vikramaditya
Motwane's LOOTERA will lead a pack of five Indian films selected this year at the Silent River Film
Festival, including award winning documentary CHAR: THE NO MAN'S ISLAND by Sourav Sarangi,
Utpal Borpujari's NYONG: MYTH/REALITY, short film LAPET by Anshul Sinha and AFTERGLOW
by Kaushal Oza from FTII's in the (Colleges and Universities) section.

AWARDS
Silent River Film Festival since 2011 has recognized a number of Filmmakers, Artist and other industry
professionals. This list includes names like John Fitzgerald (Slamdance, CineCause), CSI Star Jorja
Fox Academy Award Nominated actor David Strathairn, South Korean filmmaker Chung Ji-Young,
Eros International Founder and Chairman Aajan Lulla, director Babu Subramanium, Nila Madhab
Panda, Tim Gorski, Terry Green, actress Jaya Bachchan are just to name a few.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION AWARDS
The list of 2013 Special Recognition Awards includes names of prominent figures like His Royal
Highness, Prince of Wales (RIVER SPIRIT AWARD), Michelle Yeoh and Daryl Hannah (RIVER
GLORY AWARD), His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa (RIVER ADMIRATION AWARD), Ashok
Amritraj (RIVER HERITAGE AWARD), Dusty Brandom (RIVER SPIRIT AWARD FOR YOUTH),
