Celebrate Worldwide Day of Play at Pretend City Children's Museum! This annual event is designed to encourage children and parents to turn off the television and play. Pretend City has joined forces with Fit 2 be Kids for some fun physical activities! Visit the gross motor room for a variety of experiences, such as Olympic Style Field Games, Martial Arts Fitness,and educational nutrition classes. Stop by and play today!

Specifically for: Children ages 6 – 8 years On Rosh Hashanah it is traditional to eat some special foods that symbolize blessing, such as pomegranates,apples, and honey. Come to Pretend City to participate in the Honey Factory in honor of Rosh Hashanah. Children will learn about how honey is made and what makes it kosher. A special observation hive with live bees will add some excitement! RSVP: Highly Encouraged Walk-ins welcome based on availability.

Sound the Shofar! It’s time to celebrate the festival of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, with a Shofar Factory. Children will gain insight into the significance of the Shofar in the celebration of Rosh Hashanah. Children will see and hear a demonstration of the traditional blasts, while learning to blow the Shofar. Come learn and participate in the process involved in making a shofar from a kosher animal. During the week of September 15th, the Alzheimer’s Association will GO Purple OC and feature the color purple on Orange County’s well-known landmarks, city halls, retail shopping centers and more to increase awareness and inspire action. GO Purple OC is an Alzheimer’s Association initiative to rally the community to spread the word and encourage registration for one of the four Orange County Walk to End Alzheimer’s.

Join our naturalists on a nature walk and learn about the local plants, animals and history of Irvine Park. Light to moderate walking on both paved paths and trails. Special Instructions: All ages. Meet at the Nature Center near the OC Zoo in parking lot #19.

Once a month Pretend City offers Homeschool students unlimited access to their interactive exhibits that offer the opportunity to learn through fun experiences. A trip to Pretend City offers your students a learning experience through hands-on “real-life” educational play. These activities surround your students with challenging problems and absorbing questions. Additionally, Pretend City offers two facilitated lessons per day for Homeschool students to participate in.
