Irvine and Orange County Weather

CVB Tip

Not sure how to pack? Irvine is the ultimate "layers" destination: short sleeves and comfy lightweight pants plus some lightweight long sleeves for mornings and evenings and a light sweater or jacket in fall and winter.

If you were to graph the weather in Irvine, you'd see two graceful curves, with highs sloping gently between the mid 60s and mid 80s and lows following suit, moving from the low 40s to the low 60s and back again.

Translation: Irvine weather is about as close to perfect as you'll find on Earth.

With an average of 280+ sunny days a year, winters in Irvine are mild, with no snow, average monthly lows not dipping below 40 and daytime temperatures climbing to the high 60s and low 70s. In the warmest month of the year, August, the average high is only 85, with an overall average of a beautiful 73 degrees.

Rainfall in Irvine is also moderate — about 12 to 14 inches annually — and spaced throughout the year, with 2-3 inches a month in winter and, in the summer, just enough to clear the air from time to time during otherwise perfect sunny days.
