Destination Irvine honored with 2 Gold Awards at the MarCom 2011 competition

The Irvine non-profit organization was recognized at the international creative competition.

Destination Irvine was recently honored with two Gold Awards in the MarCom 2011 competition for its website,, and the 2011-2012 Official Visitors Guide. A division of the Irvine Chamber of Commerce, Destination Irvine partners with the hospitality industry to promote Irvine as a prominent destination for tourists and business travelers.

The international MarCom Awards are held each year to recognize the creative achievements of marketing and communication experts. The 2011 competition honored more than 6,000 entries from the United States, Canada and several other countries. Submissions included corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.

The MarCom Gold Award is given to those companies, agencies and individuals that surpass the high standards set in the communication and marketing industry.

Wendy Haase, director of tourism marketing at Destination Irvine, said the award is a tremendous achievement for the group. "Being a gold winner is a tremendous achievement, we are honored to be recognized by industry professionals for our marketing efforts."
