Dining in Southern California is an experience savored by visitors from around the world. From fine dining to outdoor cafés, Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum Center offer a wide range of culinary delights sure to please even the most finicky palate. "The Irvine Company recognizes that travelers have many choices when it comes to dining while visiting Southern California. We're proud to provide visitors with an expansive range of unique restaurants, specialty food options, and inspired culinary treats at Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum Center," said Stacie Ellis, Senior Director of Marketing, Irvine Company Retail Properties.

The great selection of fine dining at Fashion Island is about to expand dramatically. Joining Fashion Island in 2013 is New York-based, celebrity-favorite FIG & OLIVE kitchen and tasting bar exuding refined elegance and offering classic flavors inspired by the Riviera and coastal regions of the Mediterranean. Also opening in 2013, from renowned chef Rick Bayless, comes Red O, an upscale Mexican restaurant with bold décor and authentic, California-inspired fare. Lemonade, a popular and charming cafeteria-meets-café concept opening at the center later this year, features 20 prepared salads, eight kinds of pot roasts and, of course, six kinds of seasonal lemonades including Blueberry-Mint and Ginger Guava. Rounding out the new dining fare is the award winning revolving sushi bar, Blue C, which opened earlier this year.

These exciting new restaurants join long-time favorites, including Canaletto Ristorante Veneto, an Italian restaurant with a variety of fresh pastas, sauces and delectable desserts. Roy's Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine offers a taste of the islands complimented by tropical drinks and Asian-inspired cuisines. A visit to award-winning Chef Pascal Olhat's Brasserie Pascal offers patrons an unrivaled, traditional French dining experience punctuated by fresh ingredients, excellent service and an expansive wine selection.

A visit to Fashion Island isn't complete without experiencing the unique culinary product offerings at the center's Whole Foods. Designed and built with the environment in mind, all of the wood used on the walls is reclaimed lumber salvaged from old canneries in Northern California. In the wine and dairy areas used wine tank staves, stained deep purple and light red from the wine barrels, were used on the walls. More than just a market, it's a gourmet treasure featuring specialty foods and beverages, hot and cold food services, bakery, coffee and juice bars and so much more! The Tea Hive at Whole Foods invites visitors to savor green, black or oolong tea in almost any imaginable form -- frozen, sparkling, iced or steamed. Specialty drinks are made in martini shakers by "Tea Tenders." Exclusive to this Whole Foods location is Back Bay Tavern, a coastal themed tavern offering a rotating selection of 36 craft beers on tap, plus wine and spirits, along with an extensive menu including beef, seafood, vegetarian and vegan meals.

Unique culinary treats also abound at Fashion Island with Orange County's only ‘lette Macarons, featuring authentic French macarons made fresh by hand. The 12 everyday classics, in vivid hues, reflect the natural flavors and essences that infuse the ganache filling of these delicious almond cookies. California-grown culinary treasure and Cupcake Wars winner, Casey's Cupcakes, tempts visitors with 12 delectable cupcake confections as well as a cupcake-of-the-month flavor. Casey's Cupcakes added a new location at Irvine Spectrum Center earlier this year. Another Southern California-original and celebrity-favorite, Pinkberry, delights Fashion Island and Irvine Spectrum Center guests with its Zagat-rated frozen yogurt filled with trademark Swirly Goodness®.

Irvine Spectrum Center must also be included in travelers' Orange County dining itineraries. The center has been repeatedly voted by OC residents as the best place to dine in Orange County, thanks to a wide range of tantalizing options. Visitors enjoy the attention to detail that Paul Martin's American Grill delivers while creating dishes infused with local, sustainable, peak-of-the-season ingredients. A Southern California original, The Cheesecake Factory (also featured at Fashion Island) provides guests with a wide variety of inventive menu selections, classic American fare and more than 20 varieties of mouth-watering cheesecake. A Laguna Beach original, Javier's Cantina & Grill offers the finest, authentic and regionally influenced home-style Mexican cooking plus the largest selection of premium tequilas in Orange County, all in a sophisticated upscale setting. CUCINA enoteca Italian kitchen and wine shop, evokes a modern, California-inspired kitchen coupled with the history and comfort of an old, rustic, country farmhouse. The menu features Italian classics with fresh local produce and organic and sustainable ingredients. The Japanese-inspired Kabuki opened at Irvine Spectrum Center earlier this year and offers an extensive menu including an award-winning menu for kids. Ruby's Diner, a Southern California institution famous for 1940's inspired dining offers the memorable ambiance of the original Ruby's Diners while featuring new décor and an enhanced menu with innovative entrees and "greatest hits" sure to satisfy today's sophisticated dining customer. Ultra popular Umami Burger opens in the newly expanding Improv Irvine that will reopen at three times its size late this fall.
