Nearly two years after the demolition of the former El Toro Marine Base Runways, Great Park
Development Partner and OCBC member, FivePoint, held a media briefing today to highlight the major progress on a premier sports complex. The developer is completing the first phase of the 175-acre sports park, which is over twice the size of Disneyland. The $250 million multi-sport complex will complement the Great Park's existing North Lawn and South Lawn Sports + Fitness Complex and will include 18 new additional soccer and multi-use fields, a soccer stadium, 25 tennis courts, four sports courts, 12 baseball/softball fields, and five sand volleyball courts. The five-year development is a tremendous partnership between the City of Irvine and FivePoint providing world-class, inclusive housing, recreation, schools and open space that will benefit a wide range of residents.
