Irvine, CA (Feb. 25, 2013) - It's said that women comprise 50 percent of frequent fliers, make 70 percent of all travel decisions and will spend some $125 billion on travel this year. So, it's no wonder Hyatt Regency Irvine, a premier hotel in Southern California, is establishing "The Women's Experience" program, which is designed to better understand how women travel and provide them with a hotel experience that meets their individual wants and needs. The initiative particularly focuses on security, food, comfort and amenities.

Effective immediately, women travelers staying at Hyatt Regency Irvine will experience new, tailored services. At the cornerstone of the program is 50 women-specific guestrooms. These rooms will be non-connecting rooms, away from exits and stairwells. They will include additional offerings such as a vanity kit with cotton swabs, cotton pads, emery board, shower cap and make-up remover towelette, lighted make-up mirror and smaller sized robe and slippers.

In addition, Hyatt Regency Irvine will be upgrading bathroom amenities and a more woman-centric "convenience collection." This collection of free or borrowed items now extends to curling irons, flat irons, free-weight sets and yoga mats to name a few.

The hotel's dining options will also be geared more toward females. This will be evident through varied in-room dining offerings and a new "Healthy Balance Menu," which includes items like juices and smoothies made from fresh and seasonal ingredients. Guests can choose between two sizes (4oz and 8oz) for portion control and add energy or protein "boosters." Smoothies and juices will be available all day. Additionally, guests will have the options of lower calorie meals and "create your own" dish with healthy and fresh protein ingredients like fish, tofu, eggs and a variety of vegetables and starches.

"Women are an important and valuable customer for Hyatt Regency Irvine, so our goal is to make them feel more comfortable and cared for when they stay with us," said General Manager Mark Bastis. "Many of these changes will positively impact all of our guests, but it's the woman traveler we have in mind right now."
