Two-year renovation, set to complete in October 2016,
will transform rooms and public spaces

Irvine, CA - Orange County is the destination for business and recreation in Southern California. By October 2016, one of its residents, the Irvine Marriott Hotel, will emerge as a destination in its own right.

The coastal hotel is in the midst of a two-year, $35-million renovation that touches every part of the property, transforming it into a stylish, modern space where travelers can experience first-hand the energy, innovation and technology of the new Marriott Hotels.

"Our goal has always been to provide our guests with experiences that are both meaningful and memorable," Scott McCoy, the hotel's general manager, says. "Our vision, to integrate smart
sophisticated service with modern design and intuitive technology, is intended to foster the ingenuity of tomorrow's traveler and unleash their best and brightest ideas."

The refresh began with the heart of the hotel: the Greatroom. Designed to elicit a sense of awe the moment guests walk through the doors, our reinvented lobby, reimagined to serve as a grand gathering space, truly reflects a seaside-meets-city vibe.  With thought-provoking works from local artists and limestone flooring that evoke a feeling of ice floe, as they lead
guests into an array of spaces where innovation like specially enhanced acoustic alcoves, Cocktail Cubbies, and moveable seating and tabletops, this new space blends business and pleasure seamlessly.

A nod to the past and a vision of the future, our FLOE Lounge, has a vibrant coastal setting that invites guests to sip, savor, see and lounge brilliantly. Our inspired and invigorating cocktails with the alluring air of chic sophistication, and culinary inspiration that is artfully applied to classics, will keep glasses raised and conversations buzzing.  Just off the Great room, the tech-savvy M Club will offer a modern take on the traditional concierge lounge. Out front,
guests will be greeted in style with a re-imaged porte cochère.

The biggest part of the renovation, scheduled to debut in two phases from August to October, encompasses the hotel's 495 guest rooms and suites. The $23-million rooms refresh will offer
guests a restorative sanctuary, combining style and functionality in a truly flexible space. A dynamic desk, C-table configuration and blue-tooth enabled 55-inch flat-screen TV allow for a seamless transition between work and play. A barn door slides open to reveal a spacious bathroom, and an ample closet discreetly houses a safe, mini-fridge and coffeemaker.

With updates to the fitness center and pool, the hotel will align with the wellness focus synonymous with the California coast, and refreshed meeting rooms, with modern finishes and
collaborative spaces, will offer the perfect canvas for Marriott's Meetings Imagined experience.

"Our guests are already on their way, propelled by their own ambition and smarts," McCoy says. "We're simply creating the conditions for their greatness to be realized."
