Jerry van Ewijk, Richard Chaplow and Dusañ Stevanovic are the first players to officially sign with Orange County Soccer Club

As the Orange County Soccer Club (formerly Orange County Blues FC) begins preparations for the upcoming 2017 season, they are changing names and signing players.

On Friday, Orange County Soccer Club followed their announcement of a new name and new logo with the announcement of key signings of players Jerry van Ewijk, Richard Chaplow and Dusañ Stevanovic.

A 24-year-old Dutch winger, Van Ewijk is the newest addition to the Club and will begin playing in 2017.

Van Ewijk spent the last three seasons playing for De Graafschap and Go Ahead Eagles in the Dutch Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie. An exciting and explosive midfielder, Van Ewijk scored 24 goals and 9 assists while in the Dutch Leagues.

Returning from last year's playoff squad is veteran midfielder Richard Chaplow. Formerly a regular starter in the Premier League and the Championship, the central midfielder signed with the Orange County Blues in the second half of 2016. Chaplow had an immediate impact on the field by scoring goals and delivering key assists in the Blues historic playoff run.

Also, returning to the club is Serbian-American attacking midfielder Dusañ Stevanovic. Stevanovic is a true local success story, a home-grown player who made the Orange County Blues after attending the club's Open Tryouts in 2016. Though he was born in Serbia, Stevanovic grew up in Orange County and quickly established himself as a viable attacking minded winger.
