Lodging and accommodations can in second with 23% of spending equaling $108.2 million in revenue. Arts, Entertainment & Recreation was just slightly below this with $105.2 in revenue, and Retail Sales did well with $90.9 in revenue. Surprisingly to some, transportation was the lowest on the list with 8% of spending equaling $38.9 million in revenue.
This is true for cities across the nation and around the world. Without visitors exploring the attractions and sites; funding to support these destinations is lost.

What To Do While Visiting Irvine

Also taking place in Mid June (18 - 19) is the Annual Great American Irish Fair and Music Festival at the Irvine Meadows / Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Located at 8808 Irvine Center Dr., this event will include 2,000 performers and 1,000 Irish dancers, performing in the 16 entertainment areas. Also performing will be 10 big Irish bands including; The Fenians, The Dublin 4 and the Sligo Rags. Along with all the music you'll find plenty of shops with arts and crafts, and other entertainment to enjoy.
Free for Art Lovers, with the exception of parking of course, a collection of select pieces from the OC Fair's Permanent Art Collection of award-winning visual arts entries are on exhibit in the Vi Smith Concourse Gallery in Terminal A of the john Wayne Airport, and in art display cases across from the Oasis Grill & Sky Lounge. The OC Fair Permanent Art Collection consists of fine art, photography and woodworking entries submitted by Orange County artists in the OC Fair's annual Visual Arts competitions.
