IRVINE, Calif. - A new year, a new exhibit! 2017 is bringing a big
change for Pretend City Children's Museum as Trader Joe's takes over one of the
most popular exhibits in the museum; the grocery store.

Through the generous support of Trader Joe's, Pretend City's grocery store exhibit will
undergo a major remodel and the finished product will look like a Trader Joe's store, on a kid-friendly scale.

"We are so excited to bring a Trader Joe's grocery exhibit to help children throughout the neighborhood and beyond learn about the adventures in shopping" said Donnie Martin, Orange County Regional for Trader Joe's.

Design plans reveal new additions this exhibit has never seen before, including a play
"demo" area, interactive registers (store bells and all!), as well as Trader Joe's Crew Member Hawaiian shirts and Trader Joe's branded products as props. Furthermore, the plans reveal the exhibit to have new displays, shelving, and produce areas to resemble a Trader Joe's.

Sandra Bolton, Executive Director of Pretend City Children's Museum, raves about the
addition and how it will truly benefit the children of Orange County.

"It's just fabulous that the kids get to play in an exhibit that resembles a real place from our community. They've been to Trader Joe's with mom and dad several times and now they get to grocery shop themselves and take pretend play to the next level in a place they are familiar with."

A Grand Opening celebration will be held at Pretend City Children's Museum in 2017 to unveil the mini Trader Joe's learn and play addition on Monday, January 16th at 10:15 A.M. The
celebrations will kick off with a ceremonial lei cutting, free giveaways, and more.

In the meantime, there will be a "renovation" aspect to the exhibit with barriers
and peepholes for museum guests to watch the transformation.
