Wendy Haase has been promoted to Vice President of the Greater Irvine Chamber’s destination sales and marketing division, Destination Irvine. In this role, Haase oversees and manages the corporate, sports, and association sales team and initiatives, as well as all meeting and leisure marketing strategies. 

“Wendy has been a key figure in the growth of the Chamber and Destination Irvine. She leads a high-performing team of sales professionals that are directly responsible for the year-over-year growth of Destination Irvine and Irvine’s Hotel Improvement District,” said Bryan Starr, president and CEO, Greater Irvine Chamber. “Wendy is a valued member of our leadership team who has a proven record of success for our organization and city.”

Under Haase’s leadership, the Destination Irvine’s sales team exceeded their 2018-2019 fiscal year goal of 30,000 room nights by booking 31,839 for an economic impact of $823,273 and the Expedia marketing efforts generated an additional 69,250 rooms nights resulting in $10.8 in direct hotel revenue. In addition, visitor spending in 2018 came to a record $720 million, an increase of 20.8 percent over 2017.

 Haase has more than 20 years of travel and tourism industry-focused public relations and marketing experience. She began her career with Visit Milwaukee where for seven years she collaborated on events such as the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary and the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Her career path led her to California where she has represented Sonoma County and Huntington Beach, in addition to the luxury Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes.  

As the Director of Tourism Marketing for Destination Irvine since 2010, and most recently as senior director for the organization, she has successfully generated tremendous brand awareness through marketing and public relations campaigns, and collaborative initiatives with the Orange County Visitors Association.  

Haase is a Certified Destination Marketing Executive by the Destination Marketing Association International and serves on the CalTravel board of directors.
