Pho Saigon Pearl hits close to home, and I am so thankful that there is a pho place located in one of my favorite dining centers. Their IRW menu is more than enough food and SUCH a great price, only $10! In the midst of lunch hour, this place is PACKED! Try to go in the late afternoon, or take advantage of the late hours; I hear UCI students love coming hear for their late night grub fix. 

Looking for somewhere to dine that's not so casual, not so formal, just right in between? Well, SWSH Shabu Shabu offers an intimate and unique dining experience. If you haven't had shabu shabu before, you're in for some fun!

A fitting date place or gathering for friends; you are given a plate of thinly sliced meat, a veggies plate with noodles, and a bowl of rice. What you do with the meat and veggies is the most exciting part! In the middle of the table are boiling pots of kombu (kelp) water, or you have the option of ordering flavored broth; which you use to cook your meats and veggies. Afterwards you can dip them in SWSH's homemade ponzu and goma dipping sauces, then enjoy with rice. At the very end, you cook the noodles, at the broth and leftover veggies, and voila you have a soup! Check out SWSH's Lunch & Dinner Menu:

 Now if you're looking to really wine and dine, The Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar is your place. Nestled in the District of Tustin, the Winery offers 600 different types of wine and decadent dishes to perfectly complement your red or white. I got to taste the Lunch Menu and I truly enjoyed every bite from the soup and salad, to the entrees, and ending with the desserts.

I began with the first course, you can either have the Soup du Jour or the House Salad
Tomato Bisque- The best tasting bisque I have ever tasted, the perfectly creamy.
This House Salad was the perfect portion; the in-house Dijon Mustard vinaigrette dressing was perfectly complemented by the candied walnuts and Roquefort Cheese. 
As for the Main Course, you can pick 1 of 3 dishes below. My personal fave was the Pacific Snapper, everything was perfect cooked and the flavors came together nicely. If you like pesto you'll like the pasta, and if you're a burger person, then WATCH OUT you are really going to enjoy the "Grand Cru Burger". It's humongous so bring your 'A' game. 
winery3 It's not a 3-course meal without dessert! Enjoy a selection of specially made Raspberry and Mango Sorbet OR a Tahitian Vanilla Bean Cream Brulee topped with fresh fruit and a homemade cookie!
