    Spin the dreidel and light the Menorah! We’re celebrating Hanukah at Pretend City! Let your little ones learn about this holiday through fun activities, traditions, games, and art! We will have full days of fun singing songs and getting in the holiday spirit!

    Sunday, December 22nd 

    Sensational Story Time (11:30 am): Runaway Dreidel > On the first night of Hanukkah a lucky boy receives a shiny new dreidel, but once it starts spinning it just won’t stop! Join us as we read this fun story inspired by the rhythms and rhymes of a classic tale. Afterward, we’ll get to make dreidels out of clay! 

    Monday, December 23rd 

    Sensational Story Time (11:30 am):  My Two Holidays > Follow along with us as we follow Sam and his special family as they celebrate both Hanukkah and Christmas. Following the story, we’ll create our own holiday symbol using pipe cleaners. 

    Thursday, December 26 (11:30 am):  

    Sensational Story Time (1:00 pm): Celebrating Chanukah: Eight Nights Join us as we read through this short story to learn about some of the traditions in celebrating the Festival of Lights. Following the storywe will get to craft our own menorah using art supplies.   

    Friday, December 27:  

    Sensational Story Time (11:30 am):  Hanukkah Bear > Bubba Brayna is a wonderful example of hospitality and good spirit. We invite you to listen as we hear how her unexpected guest brings the community together.  

    Saturday, December 28:  

    Sensational Story Time (11:30 am): Hanukkah Hamster > This heartwarming holiday tale shares the story of an unlikely friendship between a hamster and a cab driver.  

    Grown-up Tip: Sing aloud and sing together! The holidays are a great time to introduce your child to songs like Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah! As children sing along, they are learning that songs are a great way to communicate and learn about different cultures.
